today, i started teaching our director’s son in one of my upper level classes. in one month from now, our CEO’s son will also be joining the class. i have a strange feeling that by the end of february, i will either be fired or promoted.

it’s -11° right now. happy (frigid) birthday to me.
i've been 23 for 3 hours.
at midnight, james surprised me with a candle in a tiny tiramisu, and he sang happy birthday to me. i think that was a good way to start the year :)
i'm extremely irritated right now.
it may be because i just spent the entire day at work trying to get my “new” computer to function properly, after my old one was switched with someone else’s last night (without my knowledge).
or it may be because i’m turning 23 tomorrow.

on saturday night, i met a korean guy who’s been living in LA for the past 10 years. he told me he read palms. i didn’t believe him, but i let him stare at my hand by the light of my cell phone anyhow. apparently i have a lot of emotion lines which means i can love a lot of people in my life. when i love them, i really do love them. but once it’s over, i am all about loving...
the 8 year old nerd in me.
even as a teacher, i still get a little excited about the beginning of a new semester. today i went into work with all my newly bought “school supplies”, arranged my desk, hung up the drawings my students had given me last semester, changed the desktop on my computer… i just love the newness. everything is so fresh and full of potential. and i’m such a dweeb.
