i just had dinner with this kid who has never had a conversation with a foreigner in his life before tonight. he speaks english better than my most fluent(ish) korean friends. how did he learn? he started watching american tv shows when he was in 6th grade. ha. totally unfair. i love it.

i was informed last night over coffee that nyquil is illegal in korea. i am officially a criminal. i mean, unless it’s only illegal to buy and sell. then i’m in the clear.

as i was walking home from my friend’s bar tonight, a man on a scooter rode up to me, handed me a flier for a meat restaurant, and then told me i was pretty in korean. i thanked him and he drove away. it was a good way to end the night.

to be honest, it reminded me a little bit of garden state for some reason. just the feel of the dream. it was strange. haha. nothing exciting last night though. i was exhausted. slept like a baby.

birthday is next weekend. i live in seoul. options seem endless. it’s hard having a birthday during the holidays though. everything is busy. the day always just seems to pass by. one perk of working at a kindy: i know i am at least promised cake and presents by 5 year olds. :)

i don’t teach in central seoul. my kids jumped on the 헐 train a little late. but i really wish they would jump back off. even if it means a few bruises and scratches. (no, but really. it’s incredibly irritating.)
