i’m currently re-watching season 1 of gilmore girls. judge away. but, in episode 12, lane’s mom just spoke korean to her and i didn’t even realize it at first. i just knew what she said. then it hit me, and i had to rewind it just to make sure it really happened. i swear i don’t remember her speaking anything but english when i watched this show the first time through.

train tickets are booked. my friend and i will be spending february 1-5 with our korean friend and her family, at her grandma’s house about an hour south of seoul. she keeps telling us that she is worried we will get bored. ha. if she only realized. i am so ready for 4 days of slow-paced living and great home-cooked korean food. perfect.

i’m a good teacher. i said it. i had my first open class ever today, and the parents were eating out of the palm of my hand. the boss tells me it’s the best response he’s ever had. he’s just terrified to tell them that i’m leaving. oops.

in case you were wondering how my day turned out… i laid in bed for approximately 11 of the 12 hours i have been awake. the remaining 1 was spent walking the 3 minutes to the grocery store for food, preparing said food (more than once), and going to the bathroom. also, i spent the entire day bra-less for the first time in ages. now, that’s what i call a relaxation success.

the adventurous me wants to just wash my face right now, throw some jeans on, grab my subway map and camera, and walk out the door to an undetermined destination. but the logical me knows it’s -7 outside, and i’m a baby. having no plan, getting lost and wandering around outside for a long period of time may not be the best idea given the current weather conditions. i’m tired of...

time travel.
it was new years eve (friday night). then i went to bed. then i woke up and got on a plane. then i got off of the plane in seoul and came home. now it’s sunday night. my body is so confused. as is my mind.

i have purchased way too many things over the past week. they are all things i planned on purchasing, and legitimately needed from the states. however, i now have no room for these things in my ONE suitcase that i brought home. guess who will be shipping a bunch of junk back to korea. i am a genius.
