Wow, craigslist! I didn't know you could look for jobs through that. So you didn't go through a recruiter?

my first year in korea, i used a recruiter. i had never lived overseas before, and finding a job in another country was an incredibly (for lack of a better word) “foreign” concept to me. the recruiter i used was incredibly helpful, and i’m not sure i would have ended up in korea without their help.

however, once in korea, if you’re looking for a new job, i think it’s much easier to just search for one on your own. you can personally interview with the school and get a feel for things without having someone in the middle. also, you’ll find that a lot of decent jobs refuse to even work with recruiters. a few good websites for job searching are hiexpat.com, dave’s ESL cafe, and of course, craigslist seoul. i’m sure other teachers use different ones as well, but those are the three i’ve used most often. look for posts that are made directly by the school or company. if you open a posting that has a ton of positions/locations listed, that’s a recruiter’s posting. good luck!
